Known Superhuman Powers: The Sentence (if he or it truly exists) is a mysterious ethereal being. He doesn't show up on cameras, he can walk through solid walls, can't be harmed by conventional weapons, doesn't eat, drink or age... And that's all without concentrating. When he concentrates, he can interact with solid materia, possess bodies and control them if their will is weak enough, disappear and reappear anywhere at will.... All this is of course speculative information at best, gathered from panicked criminals and citizens alike.

Weaknesses: As limitless as the Sentence's powers seem to be, he's still a semi-physical being that needs ambient magical energy to perform his more fantastic feats. Without energy, he's like a ghost, unable to touch and interact with anything. Constructs like barriers of energy can also disrupt his physical form and even harm him, dispelling his essence until he reassembles himself, a process which can take much more time if he's considerably weakened.

Abilities/Special Skills: Good with animals.

Languages: Seems able to understand many languages, but doesn't speak.

Weapons/Equipment: His cape (which might just as well be part of him) can shift into various shapes, like wings, tentacles, etc...

Personality: No known personality traits, seems to live only to punish murderers that somehow escaped the law. And ironically given the name Sentence, he has never been heard speaking.

History: The first sighting of the Sentence was in December, 1939. Since then, whenever a murderer have evaded justice, they've more than often confessed to their crimes and turned themselves in shortly afterwards or mysteriously disappeared...

He became one of the founding members of the Victory Society in 1940 and remained until the group disbanded in 1951.

The sightings of the entity mysteriously ebbed out completely in 2008...

Another Golden Age homage. A very bland design if I do say so myself, and the backstory is probably something my genre savvy friends can figure out easily. Anyway, top inspiration concept-wise is DC's the Spectre (and you would be surprised by how many "ghost heroes avenging their own deaths" there were back in the 1940s) but there's also a bit of the mystery (prior to the New 52) surrounding the Phantom Stranger thrown in.
